Energy efficiency studies show that there is a significant scope for energy cost savings in Cold Chain operation Management. However, a key barrier for carrying out energy efficiency improvement programme is the lack of knowledge and skill sets among the operational staff. The Technician Training Programme was aimed to create awareness and train the technicians on the usage of Energy Efficient equipment, their operation and maintenance. In cold chain management, the refrigeration system accounts for a significant amount of energy consumption. The Technicians and the Operators were trained to assess the performance of cold store equipment like compressors, evaporators, condensers etc. its deliveries and the energy consumption thereby. Successfully operating a refrigeration system for extended periods of time requires vigilant operation, constant monitoring of performance changes, and a thorough investigation of any failures to prevent re-occurrence. Implementing energy-efficient practices in refrigeration systems can lead to significant energy and cost savings while improving overall service. Therefore, it’s essential to be proactive and assertive in maintaining the refrigeration system to ensure its optimal performance and longevity.
