Awareness workshop/ Training program for cold Storage Operators/ Technicians under the program on Demand Side Energy Efficiency in Integrated Cold Chain Sector
This Workshop was intended to showcase and mainstream the benefits of the business model of Demand Side Energy Efficiency in Integrated Cold Chain Sector and mitigate the Energy Demands by using it efficiently through Energy Audits, suggesting retrofitting energy efficient ENCON measures for the existing facilities by converting them into technologically advanced and cleaner solutions, which would enable transformation of the Indian agricultural sector. It is also a means of addressing key issues in the agricultural sector such as low income of farmers due to poor quality of produce reaching the market, lack of storage facilities etc. which will be a major driver in supporting the objectives of Government of India’s Doubling Farmers Income initiative (DFI). The prime objective of the workshop is to disseminate information and make the stakeholders aware to improve the overall energy efficiency of the Integrated Cold Chain Management system, which could lead to substantial savings in the electricity consumption, thereby resulting in cost reduction/savings for the country and reduce post-harvest food loss.
